Produced-water treatment technology---a study of oil/water separation in gravity-type cross flow pack [CFP] separator for qualitative separation. F.A. Kenawy et al. SPE Production Facilities, May 1997, 12(2), 112--115.

An outline is presented of the modifications which were made to the traditional design of CFP separator used in the treatment of waste water separated from crude oil. The separator design includes a mechanism to shake the stationary plate pack, giving the potential to improve oil/water separation, minimize the plugging tendency of the plates, and maximize the effectiveness of the separator. 8 refs.
