High-pressure coiled-tubing technology solves resin-sand-control problems. Anon. JPT, June 1997, 49(6), 588, 589. (Synopsis OTC paper 8527).

Details are given of how CT technology now allows an offshore operator to remove extensive cement residue effectively from the wellbore and place chemical sand-control (SC) treatments in a high-pressure-gas environment. Defining SC placement, preplanning processes, equipment/materials requirements, fluid circulation system, fluid selection, BOP stack and cross manifold, and implementation and results are presented and discussed.
