Shell goes ahead with $1.36bn CCS 'Quest' project in Alberta, Canada

Shell have given the go-ahead to a $1.36bn Quest carbon capture and storage (CCS) project to cut emissions at an oil sands site near Alberta, Canada. It is hoped that more than 1m tonnes of carbon dioxide will be captured annually and injected 1.2 miles underground. Quest will be a flagship project for Shell, which is also involved in advancing CCS technology on a number of fronts worldwide.
