Gassnova and Statoil have started the joint process of prequalifying potential suppliers of capture facilities for full-scale carbon dioxide capture at Mongstad, Norway. The prequalification lays the foundation for an open international tender competition which will be conducted in accordance with the European Environment Agency’s procurement regulations, under which the suppliers must document experience and capability to deliver a capture facility using amine-based technology to commence construction at Mongstad from 2014.
