Essar Oil’s Essar semi-submersible drilling rig in the Cromarty Firth has been reactivated by Global Resources Engineering Project Services Division, a division of Aberdeen and Highland based oil services company Global Resources, under a contract valued at more than $50mn. The rig had been cold stacked in the Cromarty Firth, Invergordon, since 2002. It is to commence a drilling programme during 3Q2007.
