ChevronTexaco has announced that its energy services subsidiary, Chevron Energy Solutions (Chevron ES), is collaborating with pioneering technology and manufacturing affiliate Energy Conversion Devices (ECD) to broaden the commercial application of flexible solar electric roofing materials and high-performance nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries, as well as hydrogen storage systems and fuel cell technologies. ChevronTexaco holds a 20% stake in ECD as a result of investments by Texaco in 2000 and 2001, and maintains three 50:50 joint ventures with ECD.
