The UK Petroleum Industry Association (UKPIA) has developed a user-friendly computer programme called ‘Risk Manager’ aimed at helping service station operators assess a wide range of health and safety, food hygiene and environmental risks. To speed up implementation, the package includes a comprehensive training syllabus that will help retailers and staff familiarise themselves with the risk assessment tool. Developed by UKPIA’s Retail Policy Working Group (RPWG), the package is designed for use at the service station - although it is also reported to be ‘equally capable of network consolidation at the head office through a “super user” funcion.’ For further information, contact Chris Hunt or Nick Vandervell at UKPIA on Tel: +44 (0) 7240 0289.
