Organisation Address details

Notes:

Our training is intended to make Asset staff aware of the influence of geomechanics on drilling and well productivity. We help to prepare staff for working in tectonic environments where the extremes of rock strength and rock stress can cause extremes of expenditure overruns and slowed learning curves. The training is suitable for drilling and petroleum engineers, petrophysicists and geoscientists. .Courses offered include:- Oilfield Geomechanics in Tectonic regions High stresses are often encountered in tectonically active environments. Sediments range from very weak, overpressured clays and sands to hard, brittle and abrasive layers subject to slip on bedding planes. From well pad site selection to well testing, for those who have not previously been involved in tectonic environments the cost of surprises can include environmental damage, vastly inflated drilling costs, failure to reach the reservoir, failure to log or failure to complete a test satisfactorily. High stresses are also encountered in environments which at first sight appear to be simply extensional. These stresses may not appear to influence drilling but may constrain completion option
