Chris Huhne wins £1bn funding for carbon capture technology
Chris Huhne, the Energy Secretary, has secured £1bn from the Treasury to develop demonstration CCS technology. It is only half the sum requested by the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC), but Huhne had to fight hard to secure the funding, as the Treasury was inclined not to grant money for CCS.
