Low-carbon energy will cost every household £249 a year

The UK's Low Carbon Strategy could cause household gas and electricity bills to rise by £249 a year to pay for a seven-fold increase in energy from low-carbon sources by 2020. However, Ed Miliband believes energy efficiency measures to be introduced will reduce the extra cost to an average of £92 a year per home.
