Statoil creates global exploration unit
STAVANGER Statoil plans to create a new global exploration unit employing around 100 geologists before the end of the year. The new unit will be responsible for accessing and proving new high potential acreage, with an initial focus on Norway's 17th licensing round, the Barents Sea (except the Tromsø Patch core area), Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Iran and Brazil.
