BP Amoco pushes forward with Egyptian gas plans

BP Amoco and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corp (EGPC) have signed a letter of intent to develop two gas projects in Egypt. The developments will consist of a two-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project a two-train Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) project. The NGL plant will be built to supply Liquefied Petroleum Gas on the domestic market, with first deliveries scheduled for early 2003. The two-train LNG plant will be built to process and ship LNG to the Mediterranean and other markets. LNG shipments are expected to start during 2004.
