Viewpoint: Wind taken out of renewables' sails

The government's utilities bill merely tries to get 'green' energy on the cheap without offering the sector adequate support. This week is important for the environment. Tuesday's Budget will set the final shape of the climate levy and fiscal support for sustainable energy. Later on Tuesday, a committee of MPs will begin a critical part of its debate on the government's utilities bill, which will have an impact on renewable energy, combined heat and power (CHP) and energy efficiency.
