Equinor sells Corrib stake

Equinor is to sell its 36.5% non-operated equity position in the Corrib gas project in Ireland to Vermilion Energy for some $434mn.

Vermilion currently holds a 20% interest and acts as operator of the project. The remaining partner is Nephin Energy, with a 43.5% stake.

The sale of Corrib means that Equinor will no longer have active business presence in Ireland, after also deciding to withdraw from an early phase offshore wind project in the country.
