‘First’ 27 tonne zero emission vehicle for London deliveries

Insulation and building product distribution company CCF has worked with Electra Commercial Vehicles to launch what it says is the UK’s first 27 tonne curtainside battery electric vehicle (BEV). The vehicle includes 287 kWh traction batteries.

The new 27 tonne BEV is the product of three years of development driven by CCF, part of the Travis Perkins Group. The BEV has been manufactured and supplied through Electra to complete zero emission customer deliveries from CCF’s Harmondsworth branch, across West and Central London.

With a charge time of up to seven hours, the BEV has the capacity to cover up to 190 km on a full charge, says CCF. Onboard weighing scales, telematics and vehicle tracking will also be used to monitor the BEV’s energy use in real time.
