Are you keeping your skills and knowledge up to date?

A commitment to learning and development is all part of what being a professional means in the modern world, so everyone who joins the EI is expected to make an ongoing commitment to maintaining and developing their competence under the EI’s Code of Professional Conduct.

2020 was a difficult year, and you may feel there was less opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge – at least in more traditional ways like courses and events. But you are likely to have encountered new issues and new situations and been called on to work in new ways. You have probably got involved in webinars and group discussions and undertaken independent research to help you move forward with a particular task or project. All of these are types of learning, so keep track of them as you move forward, because they count towards your CPD.

In early April we will email a selection of professional registrants requesting the submission of their CPD record covering 2020. We aim to provide individual feedback to as many members as possible to help you with your ongoing professional development. If you haven’t been working as a result of the pandemic don’t worry, just let us know and we will do our best to help.

In the meantime, you can visit the EI website for details of the CPD requirements that apply to your registration. You can also download the CPD record form and our guide “The best you can be” which provide you with help and advice.

If you want somewhere to record your CPD online, why not try out mycareerpath. If you’re selected for audit, simply transfer your information from mycareerpath into our CPD record form.
