Eni acquires three wind projects in Italy
As part of its plan to decarbonise company operations and reduce by 80% its greenhouse gas (GHG) net emissions by 2050 over the entire cycle of its energy products, Eni has acquired through its subsidiary company Eni New Energy three wind farms from Asja Ambiente Italia.
The three projects – CDGB Enrico, CDGB Laerte e Wind Park Laterza – will have a peak capacity of 35.2 MW and are expected to produce approximately 81 GWh/y, avoiding around 33,400 t/y of CO2 emissions.
The three plants will consist of 16 wind turbines, producing 2.2 MW each, and will be connected to the national transmission grid. Construction is due to begin in 3Q2021. It is Eni’s first wind project based in Italy.
