Petroleum Review April 2019

This month we take a look at the fuel retail sector, where forecourt operators are developing new fuelling options and non-fuel offerings and digital services to meet changing market demands and consumer needs. A wealth of UK forecourt data and other information relevant to the sector can also be found online as part of the EI’s Road Fuels collection – see p22 for details.

Our regional focus shines the spotlight on Africa, which faces challenges that could be remedied through the adoption of a pan-African approach by local players and key decision makers. The harsh realities facing Mozambique’s oil and gas sector are also reviewed, as well as an update on drilling activity and exploration hot spots.

Moving to the lubricants sector, we look at recent market trends and driving forces, and highlight some new product developments.

Finally, we review some of the latest test methods developed and published by the EI’s Test Method Standardisation Committee and its technical panels.
