Bechtel and Cheniere Deliver LNG ahead of schedule on US Gulf Coast

Bechtel and Cheniere Energy recently announced first production of LNG from the Corpus Christi liquefaction project in Texas, US.

The Corpus Christi project is the latest of six trains that Bechtel has delivered with Cheniere at two sites on the US Gulf Coast. The Sabine Pass liquefaction project in Louisiana produced first LNG from the site’s fifth train earlier in November.

Cheniere recently awarded Bechtel the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the planned sixth train at Sabine Pass.

The Corpus Christi project will have five trains, with a total production capacity of up to 22.5mn t/y of LNG. The six trains at Sabine Pass will be capable of producing up to 27mn t/y.
