The importance of HSE and sustainability in the energy sector was discussed by leading experts from around the world at the EI’s three-day Middle East HSE and Sustainability Forum in Dubai in October.

With support from headline sponsor ENOC, the Forum saw a record number of delegates from academia to industry gather to listen to top speakers, including ENOC group CEO H E Saif Humaid Al Falasi, the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy Secretary General H E Ahmad Buti Al Muhairbi, EI Chief Executive Louise Kingham OBE FEI and ENOC Senior Director Sustainability, Operational and Business Excellence and EI Council Member Dr Eng Waddah Ghanem.

Opening the event Louise Kingham said: ‘The EI takes great pride in organising the Middle East HSE and Sustainability Forum and ENOC’s continued support once again ensured an enormously successful event.’

‘The rich calibre of speakers and quality debate that took place over the three days provided an excellent platform for industry, academia and policy makers to share knowledge on delivering sustainable and safe working practices.’

The Forum included a series of roundtables on topics including the value of adopting international HSE good practices, smart safety systems, improving health and safety performance, the future of HSE in the digital world, the industry’s role in delivering energy safely and managing hazards to workers’ wellbeing.
