In UK, the IMechE recommends the continuing conversion from ‘brown’ hydrogen produced through steam refining of methane and partial oxidation of oil, to ‘green’ hydrogen produced from electrolysis of water using low-carbon electricity from the national grid. The effective use of hydrogen for HGVs and other large vehicles is underlined.
