Steve Holliday chosen to be EI President from 2019

Former Chief Executive of National Grid Steve Holliday FREng FEI will be the next EI President, following nomination by Council and agreement at the EI Annual General Meeting this week.

Steve, who has been a Vice President of the EI for two years, becomes President Elect and will take over from current President Malcolm Brinded CBE FREng FEI at the end of his term in July 2019.

Steve will bring a wealth of experience to the post, having worked for nearly four decades across diverse parts of the energy sector. He was Chief Executive of National Grid Group for almost 10 years until 2016.

Previously, he was on the Board of British Borneo Oil and Gas and spent much of his early career with Exxon, where he held senior roles in refining, shipping and international gas.

Steve is now Chairman of Senvion and Deputy Chairman of Convatec. He is a Fellow of both the EI and the Royal Academy of Engineering. From 2012 to 2014 he was also appointed as a National Ambassador for HRH The Prince of Wales.
