Petroleum Review June 2018
Tackling climate change and sustainability are key issues today. In this issue we look at the latest clean fuel technologies and catalyst developments. Moves towards a circular economy in terms of handling plastics waste and recycling, and the potential impact on the oil and gas sector, are examined.
Change is also underway in refining operations as national oil companies (NOCs) increasingly flex their muscles in refined oil product markets, with a ‘NOC-on effect’ in Middle East and Asian markets. In addition, we look at how India’s petrochemical industry is being boosted by foreign investment to create one of the world’s biggest integrated sites.
On the trading front, we discuss what’s next for the Brent crude price benchmark; and analyse moves to restore the Libyan oil trading sector. Despite sanctions and international disputes, Russia’s oil and gas industry continues to gain strength. In this month’s regional focus, we see how Russia’s energy strategy is evolving towards China. We also gain insight into the digital transformation of Gazprom Neft’s operation; and issues facing Transneft’s vast pipeline plans.
Indeed, there’s plenty of change in the pipeline wherever you look.
