Electric vehicles - smart charging is the key to unlocking benefits, Energy World, April 2018, p 28

In UK, Aurora Energy Research reports on a study re the impact of the predicted 10 mn electric vehicles by 2035 on the capacity of the national grid.   It concludes that, provided the charging is smart, i.e. controlled timing, the grid could accommodate over 15 mn such vehicles.   The range of new cars is now exceeding 200 miles/charge, and the number of public charging stations is increasing.
