BP to keep a lid on emissions to 2025

BP will help tackle climate change by capping its greenhouse gas emissions until 2025  even while producing more energy. The company said it will meet the challenge of the growing global energy demand with the rising pressure to reduce emissions by cutting 3.5 million tons of carbon from its operations every year. It will also lower the overall carbon intensity of the energy it produces by shifting its  from oil to gas.  Where it fails to keep carbon in check BP will compensate for the impact of fossil fuel production on the environment by continuing to work on carbon-offsetting projects. BP is making cautious inroads into investing in renewable energy after leaving the sector following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
