Energy World April 2018
Gas comes in two forms these days – ‘natural’ (fossil) gas and a host of ‘unconventionals’ from biogases to shale. Our first feature this month takes a hard look at the status of the UK’s nascent shale gas industry and its prospects; followed by two articles on more conventional infrastructure – gas distribution pipelines and connections.
Our second feature is R&D-focused, with a series of articles starting with a round-up of the latest advances in energy-generating coatings for glass and other building elements.
Two more articles discuss research work into the complicated interactions between 'smart’ charging of electric vehicles and local electricity infrastructure, and recent advances in vehicle battery technology. Yet another focuses on a project looking to improve electricity network efficiency through improved access to data.
We also include the second of a series of articles from EI Young Professionals Networks, this one from the South Western and South Wales Branch.
