The winner of the EI’s Energy Manager of the Year Award was announced as part of edie’s Sustainability Leaders Awards in January.

This year’s well-deserved winner was James Kokiet, Energy Manager at Pets at Home, who formally received the award from the EI’s Development Director Marta Kozlowska in a ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane, London.

The award recognises outstanding individual performance in energy management. Competition was tough, with a number of high calibre entries from across the UK. James was praised by the judges for the wide range of activities he and his team implemented throughout Pets at Home sites. For example, the installation of LEDs and building management systems over a 12-month period across 430 stores. The unique nature of James’ job also stood out, with the need to achieve energy savings while maintaining animal welfare.

As a leading provider of training, tools and professional accreditation for energy managers, the EI was proud to sponsor this award for the 18th year to support energy managers in receiving the recognition they deserve. Entries for the 2019 awards will open this summer, so if you are working on an efficiency project and achieving great results for your organisation, do consider applying.
