In the traction battery world, researchers in the University of Sydney and the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have created a three-stage catalytic method of controlling the composition, size and crystallinity of oxides of iron, cobalt and nickel to overcome the problem of handling oxygen during charging and discharging of zinc-air batteries.
