First oil from Premier’s Catcher Area in the North Sea was produced on 23 December 2017. Initial production of 10,000 b/d from the Catcher field will be ramped up in phases with production from the Varadero field followed by the Burgman field. Production in the Catcher Area as a whole will increase to approximately 60,000 b/d during 1H2018, adding 30,000 b/d (net) to Premier’s daily production.

Earlier in the month, Premier announced it is to sell its entire 30% equity interest in the Esmond Transportation System (ETS) pipeline to CATS Management for some £23.6mn ($31.6mn), plus a future potential payment of up to £2.6mn linked to certain key milestones in respect of any future development of the Pegasus field. The ETS pipeline was built to transport gas from Esmond Area fields to the Bacton gas terminal in north Norfolk. The pipeline is currently operated by Perenco UK as operator of the Trent and Tyne fields, and is used as the export route for the Cygnus gas field recently brought onstream by Engie.

Premier also recently completed the sale of its interests in Licences PL089 and P534 (containing the Wytch Farm field) to Perenco UK for £149mn ($200mn).
