Energy World January 2018
Energy management and purchasing is our first theme this month, starting with an article on how businesses are increasingly turning to buying power specifically from local renewables projects. And, if you want to understand your own organisation's energy ‘culture’, then take a look at how to make a start on page 16. We follow this up with articles on collecting and processing an ever-growing amount of energy data, and learn of a new UK government scheme to support industrial energy users looking to improve their efficiency.
Then, onto our regular look at skills, careers and training – starting with a piece on retraining staff from the fossil fuel sectors of the energy industry for redeployment in the renewables sector. How will Brexit affect people and skills in the UK? Turn to page 27 for a view from EI members. Last, two articles cover getting more women into the energy industry, and how to inspire the next generation.
