Growing short-term gas supply availability and long-term demand uncertainty
More than 25bn cm of long-term pipeline gas supply contracts in Europe have expired or are due to expire this year, according to Cedigaz (see Table 1). Furthermore, only one new contract has been signed, between Gazprom and Croatian firm Prvo Plinarsko Drustvo for just 1bn cm for 10 years, starting in October 2017, illustrating growing short-term supply availability and long-term demand uncertainty.
