In the jet aviation world, it is considered that the only way of meeting the IATA 2050 reductions in emissions is via biojet fuels, since electric and hybrid propulsion lies further in the future. It is also argued that, by 2050, up to 100% of jet fuel could be derived from sustainable sources.
