Romania’s electricity market to be fully liberalised in 2018

Romania’s electricity market will be fully liberalised on 1 January 2018, reports CMS. The move comes as a result of a long price deregulation process, which began in 2007. According to the law firm, the price deregulation for non-household consumers was completed on 1 January 2014, while the final stage of price deregulation for household consumers will end on 31 December 2017. The liberalisation aims to create a competitive, transparent and non-discriminatory mechanism for the sale of electricity in Romania.
