European Commission targets new car emissions tests
As of 1 September 2017, new car models have had to pass new and more reliable emissions tests before they hit European roads, under new European Commission (EC) requirements. New cars produced by manufactures will now have to pass emissions tests in ‘real driving conditions’ as well as an improved laboratory test (known as the World Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure) before they can be marketed to the general public.
