P-66 enters production at pre-salt Lula field

Petrobras and its partners in the BM-S-11 consortium have reported first oil and gas production from the P-66 FPSO on the Lula field in the Santos Basin pre-salt. Located around 290 km from the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, at a water depth of 2,150 metres, the FPSO is capable of handling 150,000 b/d of oil and 6mn cm/d of gas. The unit is the first in a series of standardised vessels operated by Petrobras to begin production within the BM-S-11 block consortium and the seventh to produce within the consortium overall.

The P-66 joins 11 others already in operation in the Campos and Santos Basins pre-salt – the Piloto de Lula field (via the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis), Piloto de Sapinhoá (FPSO Cidade de São Paulo), Piloto de Lula Nordeste (FPSO Cidade de Paraty), Iracema Sul (FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba), Sapinhoá Norte (FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela), Iracema Norte (FPSO Cidade de Itaguaí), Lula Alto (FPSO Cidade de Maricá), Lula Central (FPSO Cidade de Saquarema), Lapa (FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba), and FPSO Cidade de Anchieta and P-58, both in Parque das Baleias.

The Lula field is located at concession BM-S-11 and is operated by Petrobras (65%) in partnership with BG E&P Brasil – a subsidiary of Shell (25%) and Petrogal Brasil (10%).
