Kingston refinery upgrade planned

Venezuela and Jamaica reached a much awaited deal to upgrade their jointly owned Kingston refinery at a recent ministerial meeting in Caracas. The agreement, signed by Venezuelan Oil Minister Nelson Martinez and Jamaican Minister for Science, Energy and Technology Andrew Wheatley, will increase the refinery’s output from 36,000 b/d to 50,000 b/d.
