Future of gas in decarbonising European energy markets
Despite the claim that gas is the cleanest fossil fuel and should displace coal in the energy mix, especially in the power sector, it has had little if any traction with European policy makers. Professor Jonathan Stern, Distinguished Research Fellow, Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES), argues that a new approach will be requried.
