Privatisation of Ukraine’s regional power distribution companies postponed

Privatisation of Ukraine’s six regional power distribution companies is to be postponed until early 2017, reports CMS. Igor Bilouis, Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, explained that it will first be necessary to adopt law on the new modern and more efficient electricity market in the country, and approve the rate(s) of the incentive regulatory assetbased tariff. This should attract more investment to Ukraine’s energy sector and may attract more bidders for the privatisation programme.
