Nuclear Skills Strategy Group (NSSG) formed

1 December : Nuclear Skills Strategic Plan  of the NSSG launched.

The group will address the challenges of providing a skilled workforce for the nuclear sector.

"The NSSG will become the UK’s lead strategic skills forum for the sector, taking over responsibility from the Nuclear Industry Council’s Skills Workstream. It represents both the civil and defence nuclear sectors and will be accountable for developing a nuclear skills strategy, addressing the skills infrastructure, processes and the training provision needed to secure the required supply of qualified and competent personnel."

The board will comprise people from National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL); BEIS; Office of Nuclear regulation (ONR); Welsh Government; industry such as EDF;Royal Navy; MOD; Nuclear Decommisioning Authority (NDA); etc.
