EFSI to be extended
The European Commission has announced that the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) will be extended for three further years to 2020, with the aim of mobilising €500bn in additional investment. In this time, the scheme would continue to support energy infrastructure projects, as well as those that encourage renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency. The EFSI will also focus on projects in eastern and southern EU countries, a Commission note stressed.
