The solar-powered plane, Solar Impulse, has made history by completing its round the world trip powered only by energy from the sun. The plane, with a wingspan of 72 metres and a total of 17,000 solar cells, landed in its starting point Abu Dhabi in late July after a final two-day leg from Cairo. The 40,000 km trip was completed over 17 legs with 500 flight hours, starting in March 2015.
