Mexico’s latest licensing round

The next bidding round in the opening of Mexico’s oil and gas sector to private sector investors was due to be held at the end of July, just after Petroleum Review went to press. It will consist of 15 shallow water blocks in the Gulf of Mexico, said Energy Minister Pedro Joaquin Coldwell. A second oil round is scheduled for the end of the summer, comprising 14 onshore blocks for exploration and production in the gas-rich Burgos Basin as well as in south-east Mexico.
