Europe reaches solar power milestone
Europe has installed 100 GW of grid-connected photovoltaic power, according to data from IHS. According to the analysis, Europe passed the 100 GW mark in the second quarter of 2016.
Reaching the milestone is the result of two factors – a rapid reduction in the costs of solar technology, and regulatory frameworks supportive of solar as countries have acted to meet the European Union’s Renewable Energy Directive.
