The FiCG consortium of Cofley Fabricom, lemants and CG has been awarded a contract to design and install an offshore substation for Germany utility EnBW, for the Hohe See wind farm in the North Sea (similar to that pictured).

The wind farm will comprise 71 wind turbines with an overall generation capacity of 497 MW. It should reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.5mn tonnes per year and produce electricity for 560,000 households. The developers aim to bring the project online by 2019.
