Better energy access for Kenyan primary school pupils

Decorative image New

A solar-based electrification programme by the Kenyan Rural Electrification Authority means that more than 45,000 primary school pupils now have access to energy at school.

Schneider Electric has developed the off-grid solar power solution that has been installed for the project in 128 rural primary schools throughout Kenya. The off-grid PV solution comprises two inverters with solar charge controllers. The inverters and cells are supported by batteries from Schneider. The inverters provide electricity for lighting applications and school computers.
