Latest DECC statistics

Average UK annual household energy bills fell £46 in 2015 (down 3.5% to £1,298), according to the latest UK energy statistics from the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). Average gas bills were down by £38 while average electricity bills fell £8. A quarter of the UK’s electricity is now generated from renewables, up 29% on 2014.

Some 6.3% of final energy consumption in the UK comes from renewable sources, against a government target of 5.4%. UK government support for renewables is expected to more than double over the next five years, reaching over £10bn in 2020/2021.
