Petroleum Review September 2014
Welcome to the first issue of Petroleum Review featuring our first full redesign in over a decade. The aim has been to produce a magazine with a more contemporary and engaging look for our readers, that fits in with the wider Energy Institute re-branding of last year. Do let us know what you think.
This month’s issue looks at energy security, providing an update on some of the latest terrorist activities to impact the international oil and gas sector. It also provides advice on key measures that companies can take in a bid to secure critical utility, oil and gas IT infrastructure against cyber attack.
We also look at how rising investment in innovation and R&D can make a big difference as E&P companies move into deeper water, attempt to cut costs and unlock new unconventional resources.
Our regional overview looks at the opportunities and challenges facing oil and gas operators in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a particular focus on Venezuela, Mexico, Brazil and several of the CARICOM countries that are still feverishly exploring for oil and gas.
The magazine also provides updates on two important issues addressed by the Energy Institute Technical Committees – aviation fuel cleanliness and marine crude oil transport global voyage losses.
