Integrating renewables can be good for the grid

Renewable energy technologies have developed faster than the grid that needs to accommodate them, and this has resulted in complexity for system operators that have to integrate variable generation. But renewables could actually help to solve operational challenges and provide grid flexibility, argues Peter Vaessen.
