First ultra-supercritical lignite plant for Asia
Alstom has signed an agreement with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand to supply and build a new ultra-supercritical unit at the Mae Moh power plant, Thailand.
The unit, an artist’s impression of which is pictured, will make the plant the first lignite-fired power plant in Asia operating with ultra-supercritical conditions. The 600 MW plant is due for completion in 2018.
