Researchers turn sawdust into fuel, Petroleum Review, January 2015, p 6
In Belgium, researchers at K U Leuven’s Centre for Surface Chemistry and Catalysis have converted sawdust into saturated hydrocarbon chains suitable for further treatment to become components of gasoline. In a period of about half a day, the cellulose in wood shavings has the oxygen removed and is converted to alkanes.
